Is this the same as private duty or 24-hour care?
No. Skilled nursing through home health is intermittent medical care – scheduled nurse visits
to provide treatments, assessments, and education. It is not live-in or around-the-clock caregiving.
Does Medicare cover skilled nursing visits at home?
For patients who meet Medicare home health criteria and have a valid physician plan of care, Medicare typically
covers approved skilled nursing visits. We’ll verify benefits and explain coverage before visits begin.
Can I request skilled nursing myself?
Yes. You or a family member can call us directly. We will then coordinate with your physician to obtain orders
and complete the paperwork required by Medicare.
How often will the nurse come?
Visit frequency is based on your condition and the physician’s orders. Some patients may need several visits
per week initially, then taper down as they improve.
